Supporting innovation in our community
We are passionate about supporting young people in our communities in design and technology. We currently work with Oxford Brookes Racing (OBR), the award-winning Formula Student team from Oxford Brookes University.
It is rewarding to introduce the latest tools and software to enthusiastic, innovative and talented young people and to help them to use these effectively to develop, communicate and sell their design ideas successfully and stand out amongst the competition.
Read more here about the successes of our supported teams:
- Oxford Brookes Racing became the Nº 1 UK Team in 2018 and then in 2020 went on to switch to Electric.
- Velocity Racing Team competed at the F1 in Schools 2018 World Finals in Singapore.

OBR Launch 2020
IN 2020, OBR shifted from combustion to electric. The OBR20 vehicle they intended to take to Formula Student UK would have been their first Electric Vehicle had it not been for COVID-19.
They had the opportunity to test the designs of OBR20 at the Virtual FSUK Competition and placed very well:
• 5th Overall in Statics
• 3rd Overall in Virtual Dynamics
If there was an overall category with the virtual dynamics and statics events being scored together, as is done at the real-world FSUK, OBR would have placed 2nd overall, making them runners up for the third year in a row. A fantastic effort achieved from a field of over 80 competitors.
Take a look at their fantastic video unveiling their new OBR20 Livery using KeyShot.
OBR Launch 2018/2019
Take a look at what the team produced for the new season! We were impressed with the results they’ve achieved using KeyShot 8 and think the panel of judges at Formula Student will be too…
The INNEO team are proud to be OBR’s sponsorship partner and to have worked with them through the 2017-18 season, introducing the OBR team to what KeyShot could add to their designs, inviting the team to tell their story at INNEO Interactive 2018 and supporting them through their most successful season ever.
The team were excited to use KeyShot 8 to develop their rendering images and launch video this month:
"Once more, utilising Keyshot has been a remarkable experience. With Keyshot 8 we took our rendering to a whole new level, the new features allowed us to not only make the video more thrilling to see but also make our engineering renders a lot more technical and useful for our design presentations. We are certainly looking forward to doing content with AR & VR, especially for our electric vehicle which will be launched virtually in 2019 before going to competition. I would like to thank INNEO for continuously motivating us and supporting us in this huge project, we are really looking forward to everything that comes next. " – Alejandro Garcia, Head of Business Development, OBR
We are looking forward to working together into the 2019 season and introducing OBR to a range of other innovative tools that can help the team gain even more of a competitive edge.

What is Formula Student?
Formula Student is Europe’s most established educational motorsport competition, run by the Institution of Mechanical Engineers. Backed by industry and high profile engineers such as Ross Brawn OBE, the competition aims to inspire and develop enterprising and innovative young engineers. Universities from across the globe are challenged to design and build a single-seat racing car in order to compete in static and dynamic events, which demonstrate their understanding and test the performance of the vehicle.’ – via the IMechE

A bit about F1 in Schools competitions
F1 in Schools is a not-for-profit educational organisation, which relies solely upon support and contributions from industry to be able to operate and deliver a World-class STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Maths) competition that engages with millions of students worldwide.
Students have the opportunity to develop key skills including communication, presenting and team working and to follow the same processes as those a real Formula One team will follow - from creating their initial business plan, to designing, making and racing their car, including:
- designing the car using Computer Aided Design (CAD) software
- analysing designs using CFD and drag calculation software
- manufacturing the car with Computerised Numerical Control (CNC) machinery
- testing the car in wind and smoke tunnels
- racing the car a 20m F1 in Schools racetrack – to see who has designed and manufactured the fastest car!
